App Store missing on your iPhone and iPad? You may have either restricted it, or it is hidden under some folder. Whatever it is, try these solutions and get it back quickly.
Last day, I found the App Store Icon missing on my iPhone. At first, I couldn’t believe what was happening on my iOS device. But just when I was about to unleash my anger, I thought of trying to try out some tricks.
Luckily those tricks paid off for me. In my case, the villain was none other than one of my favorite iOS features Restrictions aka Parental Controls. If you have also run into this same issue and don’t see App Store on your device, try out the below-mentioned tricks to get it back.
How to Fix App Store Icon Missing in iOS 12
While using your iPhone, you may have accidentally restricted the access to App Store on your device. So, first ensure, the app is not bound by Restrictions.
Step #1. Launch Settings app on your iOS device → Tap on Screen Time.
Step #2. Now, tap on Content & Privacy Restrictions and enter the screen time passcode.
Step #3. Next, toggleOFF “Content & Privacy Restrictions”.
In case you hadn’t restricted App Store and still, it’s not available on your device, try resetting Home Screen Layout.
On your iDevice, Go to Settings → General → scroll down and tap on Reset → Reset Home Screen Layout.
Reset All Settings
If no luck yet, try resetting iPhone/iPad to factory default. One thing you should know that it will remove all the login details, and Wi-Fi passwords but your data, as well as media, will remain safe.
Open Settings app on your iOS device → General → Reset → tap on Reset All Settings and confirm.
Once your device has restarted, search for the App Store. It should most likely return to your device.
Software Update
In most cases, you may not have to come this far. But just in case you haven’t got success as yet, update your device to the latest iOS version.
Besides, it’s always advisable to keep iOS device updated to ensure it’s more secure and able to run smoothly.
Open Settings app → General → Software Update.
That’s it!
Signing off
App Store is like a gateway to the world of awesome apps and games. And when that goes invisible, getting panicked is reasonable. But one thing is sure, none of the stock iOS apps can ever go missing, they may be hidden, but not missing.
Which one of the tricks mentioned above worked for you?

The Google Play Store comes pre-installed on all Samsung Android smartphones.
On most phones, it is visible on the home screen or within Apps.
However, phones locked to some network operators will have the Google Play app stored in a folder named Google (this folder also contains the other pre-installed Google apps, such as Maps).
To move Google Play out of the Google folder, simply touch the folder to open it, press and hold on Google Play and then drag Google Play out of the folder on to the home screen. You can do the same for all the other apps in the folder, too.
Still can't find the Play Store?
The Play Store comes preinstalled and does not have the option to be deleted. However, it can be disabled.
If you have disabled your Play Store app, perhaps when clearing space on your device, you will not be able to see it.
Follow the below steps to check whether the Play Store has been disabled, and enable it:
1From the home screen, choose Apps or swipe up to access your apps.
2Tap Settings
3Tap Apps or Application Manager (you may need to scroll down a little)
4Choose DISABLED OR All apps, followed by Disabled (This will differ depending on your model and operating system) ![Can t find app store on iphone Can t find app store on iphone](/uploads/1/2/3/9/123934660/478932364.png)
(Note: this will not be immediately visible on the screen. You will need to scroll to the right)
5Scroll down until you find Google Play Store and tap it.
6Tap Enable

Fix 1 – Double Check Everywhere
Be sure the icon is not in a folder. Check every Home screen and every folder. Also use search to see if you can find it. From the Home screen, swipe all the way to the left screen, then search for “App Store” to see if it appears.
Fix 2 – Check Restrictions
- Open “Settings” from the Home screen.
- In iOS12 and higher choose “Screen Time” > “Content Privacy & Restrictions” > “Content Privacy” > “Allowed Apps“. In iOS 11 and lower, choose “General” > “Restrictions“.
- Ensure “iTunes Store” and you will want to set it to “On“.
Fix 3 – Reset Home Screen
It is possible that the icon is on a different home screen or in a folder. Look on other screens and within folders. If you still can’t find it, try resetting the home screen by selecting “Settings” > “General “> “Reset” > “Reset Home Screen Layout“. This should return your icons to default settings and restore the App Store icon.
Note: If your iPad was provided to you by the organization you work for or a school, it is possible there is software on the device that locks access to the App Store. Ask your IT department for access if you feel this might be the case.

Another problem with the Wi-Fi is restrictions in the workplace. There are many organizations and companies that restrict the access of App Store to prevent downloads and save their bandwidth. In such situations also your App Store will not connect and you need to use an alternative Wi-Fi or maybe mobile data.
If you are using Mobile Data then check if there is a network issue with your service provider. Such problems are temporary and once your internet is back your App Store will connect too.
Your Settings Should Permit Download on 3G or 4G
Next in the list of solutions is to check the download settings of your phone.Wi-Fi is no more a luxury, it is more of a necessity and is available in almost all homes. This is why we are used to being connected to Wi-Fi. Thus we set our smartphones to download only through Wi-Fi. You are able to download only when your phone is working on Wi-Fi.
So, if you are using mobile data and your iPhone X has been set to download only over Wi-Fi then you will be unable to make any downloads over 3G or 4G connection. As a temporary solution you can permit downloads from mobile data by following these steps:
- Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Use Mobile Data For – locate App Store and toggle it on
Remember downloads from App Store consume a lot of data so if you can spare adequate data for the downloads then use this option. Otherwise, try to find a secure Wi-Fi and then proceed with the downloads from the App Store.
